Where Do We Go - Rawdon Island Ramble
Abundance Lifestyle & Garden on Rawdon Island road is the starting point & ending point. Ride has been modified over the years, we originally started at the Fudge factory on Kings Creek Rd. just off the Oxley Highway and rode up the highway to Rawdon Island Road . The Oxley H'way was considered too dangerous so moved the start to the side of the road on Rawdon Island Road.
As our numbers increased the blind corner and double yellow lines made this starting point too dangerous.
Seeing as we had coffee just down the road at Abundance, we decided to start and end the ride there.
From Abundance we head down Rawdon Island Road and over the bridge to Rawdon Island.
There is a very pleasant view of the river from the bridge but if you are going to stop and admire it remember to callout "stopping" so other riders in the group know what is happening.
We then follow the road around until we get to the gravel, at which point we turn around so the wooses on road bikes don't get them dirty. We then head back up the road, over the bridge and then turn right into Colvin Street & down to the reserve. Training manual on how to turn tight en masse.
A wee stop and then a stroll around the oval to look at the river & a photo opportunity on the jetty.

Back up the hill, past Abundance a left into Sancrox Road, at the bottom of the hill we turn left into Verdun Rd. and travel a few kilometers on bitumen in the middle of nowhere.

From there we head back to Sancrox and follow the rolling hills till we get to Bushland Drive where we turn right and head out to Billabong Zoo.

"Fortune Favours the Brave" they say, this section includes a long fast descent and then hard on brakes into a very rough ninety degree turn at the bottom.
Time for a few running repairs and a sweetie break before we have to tackle the hills to get back to Abundance.
"Queeny" leaves the boys in her wake and demonstrates the advantage of clean living, a good set of legs and an electric motor. The strain of trying to catch an E-bike up the hill is evident.
Back to Sancrox Nursery for coffee.
